See how to vote or file for more than 100 positions available in The Woodlands’ Feb. 18 elections


Filing begins Dec. 29 for more than 100 positions on The Woodlands committees and associations that will go before voters Feb. 18.

The filing period lasts from 8:30 a.m. Dec. 29 to 5 p.m. Jan. 19 for the Feb. 18 election, according to The Woodlands Township.

Filing forms may be obtained online at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/februaryelection from village association presidents or at The Woodlands Township Town Hall at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands. Township hours are Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Individuals filing for positions must be residents or property owners in The Woodlands age 18 or older. Additional requirements may be necessary for those filing in specific villages. The deadline for write-in candidates is 5 p.m. Jan. 25. Any elections that do not have a contested race as of 5 p.m. Jan. 25 will be canceled, according to the township.

Voting takes place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 13-Feb. 17 as well as on Election Day from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, according to the township.

Among the positions available are those on the Residential Design Review Committee, which facilitate reviews for property improvements. Up to five Residential Design Review Committee members are elected for each village, all serving one-year terms. This includes two committees for Indian Springs, which is divided into two geographic areas.

In addition, positions are available on township Village Associations.

• 18 at-large area representatives (one-year term)

• President (two-year term)

• Secretary (two-year term)

• Events co-chair (two-year term)

• 10 at-large area representatives (one-year term)

Grogan’s Mill Village Association

• Seven at-large area representatives (two-year term)

Indian Springs Village Association

• President (two-year term)

• Secretary (two-year term)

• Six at-large area representatives (two-year term)

Panther Creek Village Association

• Nine at-large area representatives (two-year term)

Sterling Ridge Village Association

• Eight at-large village directors (two-year term)
