Jesse Rock Jr. Obituary (1960 – 2022) – North Logan, UT

Jesse Ronald Rock, Jr., 62, passed away from cancer on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Jesse was born April 4,1960 in Brigham City, Utah to Jesse Ronald Rock and Patricia Jones Munson. He graduated from Box Elder High School and attended Weber State University (WSU) and the University of Utah. He married the love of his life, DaNae Lewis, in 1985, and they had two daughters, Desiree and Victoria. Jesse worked at Logan Regional Hospital in the Radiology department for over 30 years, most recently as Nuclear Medicine Coordinator. He brought the Nuc Med program to Logan and was a mentor to countless students and employees, helping them build their careers. He also taught a class on Nuclear Medicine as an adjunct professor at WSU, where he advanced his education in 2013 with his Master of Science in Radiologic Science (MSRS). While in school, he earned the Outstanding Achievement in Research award and the “2013 Thesis of the Year” in the Department of Radiologic Sciences. Jesse was always passionately working on a project, his hobbies included: painting nature scenes with watercolor or oil on canvas; silversmithing and jewelry making; fossil hunting and rock hounding; woodworking and furniture building; remodeling his home and landscaping. He was a green thumb who always had a big beautiful vegetable garden, raspberry bushes, grape vines, fruit trees, and plants filling the windowsills of his home. He was a ski bum who spent winters on the slopes, and a beach bum who frequented Newport Beach, California. He had a lifelong passion for the desert, which he shared with his youngest daughter, Victoria. Jesse was an avid hunter, fisher, hiker, and often took his oldest daughter, Desiree, backpacking in the Uinta Mountains with various family and friends. His love and respect for mother nature was endless. Jesse could often be found strumming his guitar, singing, or whistling a tune…music was always playing in the house. He loved being a grandpa and sharing all of his talents and wisdom with his grandsons, and he was brokenhearted to learn that his time with them was being cut short. Jesse is survived by his wife, DaNae; daughter Desiree (Thomas Lee); daughter Victoria (David Cook); grandchildren Weston and Vincent; brother Steve Rock; sister Becky Jeppesen; Shantry Mitchell; Angie Fleming; Jon Rock; and beloved extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents Jesse Rock and Patricia Munson; in-laws John and Donna Lewis; sister Lisa Taylor; great aunt Ruth; and “best boy he could be” canine, Dillon. Jesse would like to thank Dr. Jeffery Job, Dr. Mike Stones, Dr. Gary Whipple, Dr. Niraj Agarwal, Dr. Richard Johnson, and Dr. Patrik Luzney for their efforts to help him fight this diabolical disease. Thank you to all of the nurses, technologists, and the hospice team who were involved in his care. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11am at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North Street, Logan, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, September 30 from 6pm to 8pm and on Saturday, October 1 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Allen Mortuary of North Logan. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
