1934 — 2022

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jerald W. Johnson, was called to return to his heavenly home on June 5, 2022. He was born February 5, 1934 in Paradise, Utah to Joseph and Claire Johnson. He was raised by his wonderful mother and amazing stepfather, Clarence Child.

Jerald married Patricia Mills on December 24, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their marriage was blessed with 5 sons. Patricia died March 31, 1988. Jerald then married Kay Ann Johnson on June 10, 1989 and their marriage was solemnized in the Brigham City Temple.

Jerald served in the U.S. Airforce for four years. He worked at L3 Communications for 38 years as a principal engineer.

Jerald loved everything to do with trains and railroads. He was a member the Hostlers Model Railroad Club for over 30 years and the South Weber Railroad Club. He was a perfectionist in building, remodeling, and rebuilding his model trains and railroads. He also served as a volunteer at Union Station.

Jerald was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings.

He was very kind, humble, and Christ-like. He accepted and loved everyone.

Jerald is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Robert W (Martha), John D (Heather), Jeffrey D (Staci), and Rick; stepdaughter, Christina (Josh) Wilson; and stepson, Keith (Paula) Crater; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat; son, Randy; his parents; and brother, Joseph Glen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at the No. Ogden 9th Ward, 205 E. Elberta Dr., No. Ogden, with a viewing held prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2:15 pm at the Paradise Cemetery, 8940 S. 340 E., Paradise, Utah.
