An Intermediate Interior Designer role at our office requires experience, knowledge and imaginative capacity in both creating and managing very specialized work. Designers facilitate any design work in the office through drafting, project management, coordination, and support to senior design team. Expert drafting skills are an essential skill for this position.

Responsibilities…

  • Generate professional and detailed drawings, project sketches, space planning, floor plans, elevations in AutoCAD and/or sketch form.
  • Generate detailed drawings of custom furniture, millwork, and interior architecture.
  • Redline and review architects’ drawings submitted for project review
  • Manage design projects, under guidance of Senior Designer or Principal.
  • Site work, travel to project sites. Attend construction and client meetings.
  • Specify and source fabrics, materials, floor coverings, wall coverings, and furniture per project requirements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and installations.
  • Generate finish, hardware, plumbing and paint schedules.
  • Produce presentations to illustrate design intent. Assemble presentation boards.
  • Communicate with clients in a professional manner via phone, video calls, email, site and office meetings, messaging, etc.
  • Professionally represent the office publicly, at fairs, seminars, or shopping for projects.
  • Be motivated, resourceful and take initiative.

 

Essential Skills…

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mid-level design position with a contemporary, residential design firm. Experience with commercial/hospitality design.
  • 3-year minimum design experience and proficiency with AutoCAD & Sketch-up.
  • Industry recognized education/background in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
  • Comprehensive and professional level of understanding with Interior Architecture and Design drawings, specifications, Architectural plans and schedules.
  • Experience with space planning, furniture layout, elevation development, and room programming.
  • Experience with sourcing contemporary, custom, vintage and antique furnishings globally
  • Experience and familiarity with custom fabrication.
  • Knowledge of architectural styles.
  • Familiarity with current, historical, and noteworthy interior design/designers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, Studio Designer or similar.
  • Basic graphic design and layout capabilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work productively and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to change and shifting priorities.
  • High-level of attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Valid Driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle.
