Intermediate Architect – New York, NY, US | Jobs


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with clients to discuss project objectives and budget
  • Preparing and presenting design proposals including detailed drawings of renovations, restorations, and finished buildings
  • Collaborating with construction professionals and consultants to discuss feasability of design and provide information as required
  • Maintaining knowledge of current design trends, code changes, and develpments
  • Reviewing local rules and regulations to ensure the construction project falls within all constrsaints
  • Working with contractors, surveyors, and building service engineers to create a construction schedule and bring the designs to fruition
  • Supervising construction of buildings to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay on budget, and adhere to the original vision for the design
  • Resolving issues that come up during construction
  • Participating in project management throughout the construction
  • Prepare renderings and supporting graphics for project presentations
  • Report to a supervisor for guidance and direction in terms of design development

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in REVIT, Autodesk, Adobe and Office Suites; Rhino and VRay experience preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in residential and commercial projects, particularly multi-family buildings and high-end residential design
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • High levels of creativity and imagination
  • Ability to participate collaboratively on a project from programming through design and construction administration, in a team environment.
  • Experience in the preparation of architectural construction drawings and related project documents
  • Experience with construction administration of projects, including shop drawings review, site visits and reports
