Growing residential space-planning and interior design firm is seeking an experienced architectural design professional to join our team. Opportunity to be part of a firm that views residential design as a holistic streamlined endeavor – marrying architectural space planning, selections of all finishes and furnishings, and project management -interacting with a variety of professionals to guide our clients through the entire process, from inception to completion. Provides the unique excitement of being involved in a large variety of residential projects on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Potential to be lead designer on residential renovation-design projects; direct client communication
- Team member with interior design team to incorporate interiors component
- Daily interaction with general contractors and sub-contractors, on-site construction phase design management; problem-solving and attention to creative detail in the construction phase
- Drafting and development of construction documents; lead junior drafting associate
- Project budget development and oversight/management
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 3-5 years as an architectural designer within an architectural firm (fully licensed architect a plus)
- Thorough understanding of residential construction methodologies and detailing – strong preference given to those with construction experience
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a small-team, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and team-based orientation
- Local Boston area residents with local contacts preferred
