HIRING:  Architect/Architectural Designer to join small, thriving, design-oriented architecture studio

ABOUT US:

Jennifer Weiss Architecture is a thriving design-oriented architecture studio in San Francisco.  Our work has been recognized by and published in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Dwell Magazine, California Home and Design, House Beautiful, San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, Remodelista, and Apple, Inc. advertisements.  Our office is centrally located in San Francisco, 1 block from Laurel Village and 2 blocks from the coveted Sacramento Street corridor in Presidio Heights, and we conduct most of our meetings in our large outdoor garden.  We are professional, friendly, efficient, and we take pride in our high quality work and team.  Founded in 2005, we have a successful practice that is thoughtfully growing, and look for team members who are interested in a long-term career with us.

YOUR ROLE:

As part of a small office, you will have the opportunity to work on and learn about multiple aspects of all of our projects.  Responsibilities for entry level team members include drafting, modeling, design explorations, assistance with design development, document generation (schematic design, design development, permit, construction documents, etc.), physical and computer model making, and miscellaneous contributions to the project such as developing client presentations, product research and procurement, collaborating with, assisting and learning from the team to develop skills, assuming responsibilities and ideally ultimately becoming a part of the leadership long term. We are seeking team members with excellent design, communication, interpersonal and graphic skills. Our small team consists of talented, intelligent, resourceful, creative, positive, tenacious, flexible, detail oriented, thorough and self-starting individuals, and we look for the same in this position. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years min. of professional experience
  • M. Arch degree preferred, B. Arch recipients with production experience encouraged to apply
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling (preferably in SketchUp) fluency required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on , often working on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work autonomously with efficiency and care, and as part of a team.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
