The last home that modernist architect Donald Wexler had a direct hand in designing is on the market in Palm Springs for $4.395 million.
Completed in 2015, this all-white steel post-and-beam dwelling spans 2,550 square feet with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a den.
The listing markets property as “turnkey” and “furnished with high-end custom furniture by designer Calla Cane.” It wraps around a reflecting pool and welcomes the outside in.
Great expanses of glass frame the resort-style pool and spa in the enclosed front yard with views of the San Jacinto mountains.
Inside, a double-sided fireplace divides the living and dining rooms and the kitchen sits behind a half-partition wall.
Other highlights include a large glass-enclosed shower in the primary bathroom.
Property records show the house sold in August 2020 for $2.38 million. The seller has since updated the home with solar, an HVAC system and a tankless water heater.

The house sits on a more than three-quarter-acre lot in the historic Movie Colony neighborhood, on land formerly part of Frank Sinatra’s “Twin Palms” home.
According to a previous listing, the plans Wexler drew were finalized less than two months before he died in June 2015 at 89.
Wexler famously introduced steel to residential design as an affordable and robust material suited for the desert climate. In the early 1960s, he and his partner, Richard Harrison, designed seven all-steel and glass homes for a neighborhood in Palm Springs.
Those homes now benefit from Class 1 historic site status and Steel Development House No. 2 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
