As they become available, Prairie Business highlights the region’s new hires, promotions, and employee achievements. This week’s spotlight includes the following:

Architecture Incorporated names partners

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. • Architecture Incorporated of Sioux Falls and Rapid City said it is proud to announce that Jeremy Altman and Lauren Deshler have both accepted offers to become partners in the firm.

Altman, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, joined the Architecture Incorporated team in 2019. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design. With nearly two decades of experience, he is an integral component of the company’s Rapid City team. He is a well-rounded job captain experienced in a broad range of project types.

Deshler, AIA, joined the firm in 2013 following her graduation from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Architecture. Her portfolio of experience is diverse, including hospitality, office, education, and health care. She is a true team player, always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed, to ensure that the firm’s culture is inclusive and engaging.

Marshall Joins Houston Engineering

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. • Dave Marshall joins Houston Engineering, Inc.’s Thief River Falls team as an engineering specialist. He will assist project managers with plan designs, surveys, and reports with his diverse experience in water resources and transportation.

Marshall grew up near Alexandria, Minnesota, and has been living in Gully, Minnesota, for the past five years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental and natural resources management and an associate degree in natural resources conservation from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. He is also a certified wetland delineator.

Marshall is a veteran technician and designer who has served Minnesota clients for nearly 30 years. Marshall’s diverse skill set and broad experience make him a valuable asset to any project, as his hard-earned experience will be beneficial for HEI’s team and clients.

Widseth names new shareholders and associates

BAXTER, Minn. • Widseth recently named several staff promotions, including the following:

Vanessa Hines, PE, civil engineer (Rochester, Minnesota) – promoted to shareholder/vice president.

Widseth says its ownership structure and transition plan are founded on mentoring future leaders from within, a system that has seen successful transitions since the multi-discipline firm was launched in 1975 by Dick Widseth, Howard Smith, and Don Nolting.
