WAUKESHA, Wis. (April 1, 2022) – The Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Toby Van Sistine to the position of Director of Government Affairs. Van Sistine, who has been the Association’s Director of Operations since October of 2018, now oversees government advocacy to help influence land development and building related topics on a global, regional, state, and local basis. The MBA fosters a positive working relationship with area municipalities, regulatory agencies, and elected officials at all levels, by sharing information on important industry-related issues.

A Hartland, Wis. native, Van Sistine majored in Architecture at the University of Minnesota before getting his start on the commercial side of design in 1998 and transitioning to residential design and construction management in 2010. He came to the MBA in 2015 starting as the membership and business development manager before moving to his role as Director of Operations in 2018. Van Sistine has been an integral figure in the planning and execution of MBA events including the 75th Annual Parade of Homes. He also brings the experience of being a business owner in a Milwaukee-based company to his new position.

“Toby Van Sistine has been a vital part of the MBA leadership team at every level in which he has served the Association,” said MBA Executive Director Kathy Raab.  “We have valued tremendously his innovative contributions to our team and are excited to see his many talents extend to sharing the MBA mission and vision to the Government Affairs sector.”
