JOLIET, IL — If you are in the mood for a White Castle, you can now return to the popular fast-food restaurant at Joliet’s revitalized intersection, Jefferson Street and Larkin Avenue. After being closed two months for a major building remodeling and construction project, Joliet’s White Castle reopened for business last week, on Oct. 24, employees told Joliet Patch on Wednesday.
The most notable improvement included the addition of a double-drive thru.
The renovations to the White Castle come on the heels of the new Tony’s Fresh Market supermarket that opened this past summer at the site of the vacant Kmart store.
A year ago, the Kmart property looked unsightly and the parking lot was crumbling.
Nowadays, both the White Castle and Tony’s grocery store are frequently busy, and there’s also a new Planet Fitness gym that opened in the same building as Tony’s.
