house-shaped, portable tent ‘air architecture’ inflates in a few minutes for easy camping

Inflatable tent for easy camping

Creative camping offers a new addition to its family with Air Architecture’s inflatable tent. Designed by Liu Yibei, the inflatable structure takes the shape and form of a classic house to bring the essence of home outdoors anytime and anywhere. Its white color makes it easy to spot during the day and looks like it glows in the dark at night when a white lamp is turned on inside. The creator has dubbed it as a piece of cloud that blends softly into any landscape it is in. To set it up, campers need to take the tent out of its carry bag, expand it – which has a size of 2.4m x 2.2m – open its valve, insert the nozzle, and pump the air for about eight minutes. Campers can witness it blow up, putting it immediately onto the go-to list of inflatable structures.

fire-resistant and waterproof fabric

The structure is composed of columns and beams that follow the footsteps of an actual house construction. Drawn from its resemblance to a classic-looking house, the design confers the inflatable tent a unique look that stands out on the campsite. The airframe that supports the Air Architecture is a TPU pipe with a diameter of 120 mm and a thickness of 0.3 mm, covered with thick polyester. It will be hard and sturdy when inflated as its designer states. The fabric of the tent comes from 210D Oxford polyester, and its polyurethane coating on the fabric and seams make it suitable for most rainy conditions. Its high-performance polyester fabric maintains the sharp form of Air Architecture’s aesthetics and makes it fire-resistant and waterproof. An engineered Airtube structure forms its air columns and beams that boasts 100% air-tight features and is also fire and water-resistance.

Being with nature through an inflatable tent

The cozy, white tent has a high ceiling when campers enter to give them a spacious area, allowing them to freely move around. The room is wrapped in bright-white fabric that seems to glow. Opening the windows on all sides connects the inside and the outside, sharing the private space with nature. When set up in a forest, campers can easily listen to the rustling of leaves and the chirps of the birds and even smell the scent of trees and earth from the thin, sturdy fabric that separates them from their surroundings. The same goes at the beach where the gentle laps of the waves and the scent of the tide drift into and linger into the modest, portable home. The night sets in, and campers may close the windows of the Air Architecture and turn on their light to brighten up the space, or set a warm light on to accompany their stargazing experience from the transparent windows.
