Harold F. Boersma Jr.

IRON MOUNTAIN — Harold F. Boersma Jr., 82, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Aug. 26, 2022, at home with his family by his side.

Harold was born in Beaver Dam, Wis. He received a B.A. from Notre Dame, played trombone in their marching band, and was on the dean’s list his last two years there.

He married the love of his life in 1966 in Florida, became a deacon in May of 1982, and moved his family to Iron Mountain in 1994. Harold loved the beautiful sites of the U.P. and wanted to be close to a Carmelite Monastery.

Some of Harold’s past work history included working at The U.S. Social Security Administration, National Cash Register CO., the Clewiston Inn as a general manager, a life insurance salesman, and with the church. He donated to many organizations for he loved to help people.

Some of his favorite past times included building/remodeling homes, reading, gardening, and family activities. His family and faith were most important to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beatrice; six children, Jim (Danette), Maria (Jose), Teresa, Chris, Claudia (Anthony), and Harold III; 19 grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Joseph, Margarita, Kenny, Steven, Gregory, Victoria, Tyler, Gabriel, Lilliana, Christina, Anthony, Kayla, Olivia, Emily, Harold IV, Delilah, and India; four great-grandchildren, Stella, Madison, Penelope, and Leighton.
