DesignInc, Trapp Architects join forces

DesignInc has announced Brisbane-based practice Trapp Architects has joined the DesignInc group, furthering its personnel and expertise in the river city.

The move signals continued growth for DesignInc nationally, with the organisation now numbering over 250 professionals, with the Trapp merger adding to the existing studios located in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.

Trapp Architects is a long established firm with young and progressive leadership, with Di Lund as Managing Director. The multi-disciplinary practice comprises architects, interior designers, and landscape architects. Trapp, now known as Trapp DesignInc, has successfully collaborated with DesignInc on significant projects across Australia for over five years, building a strong and fruitful relationship between the practices.

Di Lund joins the DesignInc Board of Directors, a welcome addition with her exceptional skills in managing large-scale architecture projects, business development savvy, and client management abilities.

“DesignInc is thrilled to welcome Trapp Architects, cementing our successful, collaborative working relationship. Given our experience working with Trapp, we are confident that Di and the Trapp team are a great cultural fit for DesignInc – both in the sectors that we work in and how we work with our clients,” a statement by the DesignInc Board reads.

DesignInc Board Chairman, Christon Batey-Smith, says the DesignInc collective will benefit from increased opportunities, with the practice keen to pursue more projects in Queensland.

“With Di Lund leading the team in Brisbane, our Queensland-based clients in particular, will benefit from the local knowledge and excellent support of Di’s Brisbane team.”

Trapp joining DesignInc gives the practice a presence in the Queensland market at a time when major upheaval is in the offing. South-east Queensland is anticipating a $1.8 billion boost, thanks to a wave of major infrastructure and construction projects ahead of the 2032 Olympics.

Trapp Architects’ Di Lund says joining forces with DesignInc is a major step forward for her practice.

“This is momentous for Trapp, and we are enthusiastic about growing in market sectors such as Health, Transport and Education where DesignInc has considerable expertise, and our national studio network can support emerging opportunities in the Queensland market over the coming decade.”
