Cornerstone IT of Mentor acquired by company from Maine

Jul. 3—A company called Logically has acquired an information technology managed services provider from Mentor.

Logically, which is based in Portland, Maine, recently announced its purchase of Cornerstone IT. Since 2019, Logically has acquired 11 companies within its field, counting the Cornerstone IT deal.

Logically stated in a news release that the acquisitions are aimed at enlarging the company’s footprint throughout the United States and continuing its tradition of personalized customer support.

Logically CEO Michelle Accardi said the specific purchase of Cornerstone IT will help her company to remain on the cutting edge of security, cloud and Microsoft services that ensure its customers enjoy all the benefits of its expert teams.

“Customers in the industries that Cornerstone IT serves will benefit greatly from the added knowledge and experience our new team members bring to the table, and we are looking forward to having the Cornerstone team thrive within our organization,” she said.

Cornerstone IT, which is based at 7333 Corporate Blvd. in Mentor, serves customers in the professional services, manufacturing, insurance and construction/development industries.

Some of the company’s areas of expertise include data backup and recovery, technical assistance center and field service, anti-virus malware and spyware protection, firewall protection and design, cloud services, network infrastructure security and consulting/networking/project management.

In addition, Cornerstone IT is a Microsoft Gold Cloud Partner, bringing best-in-class cloud capabilities to the Logically team, the news release release stated.

“Logically shares the same mission and consistently outperforms competitors in service of this goal, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of this stellar team and partner in its growth,” said Cornerstone IT CEO Ray Paganini. “I am looking forward to remaining on board and joining the Logically family, along with many other valued Cornerstone IT employees.”

In a July 1 telephone interview with The News-Herald, Paganini said Cornerstone IT’s staff has continued working from their same Mentor office after the acquisition was completed. Logically already has added to the sales staff in Mentor, and it’s likely that the company will increase the number of technical positions as well, he said.

In the near future, the acquired business probably will start calling itself something like “Cornerstone IT, a Logically company,” Paganini said. But eventually, the Mentor office will become known strictly as Logically.

Cornerstone IT traces its history back to 1994, when Paganini launched the Paganini Development Team. In 2003, it was rebranded into Cornerstone IT.

The company’s success also has been recognized regularly through the years in the Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50 business-awards competition.

Fast Track 50 is an annual event that selects and pays tribute to the region’s fastest-growing businesses. The 50 winners are chosen based on a weighted average of 80 percent sales growth and 20 percent employment growth over the previous five-year period.

Cornerstone IT has captured 12 Fast Track 50 awards throughout its history. Its most recent appearance on the Fast Track 50 winners list occurred in 2020.
