The Wellington sur le Bassin condominium project has broken ground in Montreal’s Griffintown neighbourhood.

Part of the new District Griffin development, Wellington sur le Bassin is the only project currently under construction facing the Peel Basin and overlooking the Lachine Canal. Developer Group Devimco and its partner, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ, are in charge of the project.

Valued at $160 million, Wellington sur le Bassin will feature 380 condominiums on 25 floors, including studios, one- to three-bedroom units, and penthouses up to 123.4 m2 (1328 sf).

On the top floor, residents will enjoy one of the highest terraces in the Griffintown area, featuring a rooftop pool, a furnished patio with an outdoor kitchen, barbecues, a fire pit, a pergola area, a private dining area, and an urban chalet with an additional kitchen.

The 929 m2 (10,000 sf) of common areas in the building have been designed to create a relaxed atmosphere. Wellington sur le Bassin will offer 360-degree views of Mount Royal, downtown, and the St. Lawrence River.

Located at the corner of Wellington and De La Montagne streets, the building will provide access to the waterway, the green bike path, the new Smith Promenade, and the new Reseau express metropolitain (REM) station. Occupancy for Wellington sur le Bassin is planned for 2024.
