Understanding, Selling, & Implementing Human-Centric Lighting (Presenter: Andy Bull, Lighting Audio Video Projects) The products and tools to deliver Human Centric Lighting are now a mature technology in the custom integration (CI) industry. This session will take a look where the CI industry is with Human Centric Lighting and where it can go in the future.
Technology’s Place in the Home for Everyone (Presenter: LaDonna Eriksen, Living in Place Institute) Traditional home design is evolving to meet the needs of people of all ages and abilities. The change is necessary so the 54 million people in the United States who live with disabilities can live without barriers in their own homes. This combination of technology and home construction that can make the lives of all people better, not just those who live with disabilities.
Health and Well-Being Strategies for Residential: WELL as a People-First Driver for Better Homes (Presenter: Kelsey Mullen, WELL Homes Lead) In this session, explore how physical and social environments affect human health and well-being and how these strategies can be implemented in residential properties and what role technology can play.
Wellness in the Home – A Technology Insight (Presenters: Michelle Guss and Chris Ochoa, Crestron) With most of us spending over 90% of our time indoors, the demands for our homes to now provide improved health and wellbeing are growing exponentially. With an open ecosystem OS, integrators can provide a true wellness “platform” for the home, one that bridges the gaps in technologies such as using tunable lighting to maintain circadian cycles indoors, advanced air remediation to improve the quality of air.
Specifying the Proper Luminaire-Creating a 3-Dimensional Illumination Plan (Presenter: Ken Erdmann, director of technical education programs, CEDIA) Lighting can set the mood in a residence. Proper illumination renders colors, reveals textures and enhances architectural details. Selecting the correct luminaires is much more than just installing a bunch of light fixtures; the light must enhance the look and feel of the space.
The Future of Architectural Lighting (Presenter: Grayson Evans, Grayson Evans Consulting) This course will demonstrate and explain the future of architectural lighting technology, lighting automation cabling and its effects on human health and wellbeing. It covers the nearly complete transition to LED architectural lighting including how LEDs work, color generation, dimming, control and automation options and how to incorporate the technology into your projects. It will also cover how the mix of daylight, artificial light and darkness can improve the health and wellbeing of occupants in both residential and commercial examples.
The Role of Energy Management in the Future Home (Presenter: Chris White, Parks Associates) Only 19% of US broadband households are aware of their electricity provider’s energy monitoring and management products. For clients concerned about environmental impact and carbon footprint, these tools are a crucial aspect of their home’s design. This session addresses the latest trends in residential energy management, including consumer adoption of smart energy devices, perceptions of energy programs, and new innovations driving the growth in home energy generation and storage.
Ask the Expert: Partnering with Allied Trades (Moderated by Amanda Wildman, TruMedia) As part of the CEDIA Ask the Experts Series, this session will allow people to connect with and ask questions of industry veterans that can help one learn and solve problems related to partnering with allied trades to execute complex residential projects.
