Residential architectural planning and interior design firm located in the heart of Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood is seeking an experienced, senior architectural professional and leader to join our team.   • Position Responsibilities
    • Teamed with Interior Design Director to drive job scope on all residential projects and manage mid-level project managers and junior staff
    • Provide leadership and experienced guidance to junior designers and staff
    • Project manage residential design projects from concept to completion
    • Business development support in the high-end, luxury residential design sector to continue the growth of the company’s affluent client base
    • Creates project budgeting based on design-scope requests
    • Outlines costs, timeframes, specifications, and budgets for each design project and provides organized communication with accounting/billing department
    • Develops comprehensive proposals along with payment schedule and start/completion dates
    • Assists in coordination of staff workload, priorities, and deadlines for projects
    • Coordinates architectural design development needs
    • Maintains client engagement and relationships
    • Reviews and evaluates new product requests and plan change forms submitted by client
    • Reviews construction documents and shop drawings for design compliance
    • Procures answers to day-to-day questions regarding clarification of design intent
    • Attends field/office construction meetings as needed including pre-construction meetings, etc.
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with field personnel
    • Attends continuing education seminars, product tours, and trade shows as permitted to keep abreast of market trends and changes
  • Key Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
    • 8-12 years of architectural design work experience
    • Demonstrated passion for residential architectural design and design/build process
    • Registered Architect highly preferred
    • Entrepreneurial approach to business management
    • Teamwork oriented; ability to bring together and manage a design team of internal and external players
    • Experience dealing with urban and suburban residential wood frame construction, building codes, pre-construction/permitting process
    • Demonstrated skill in developing and managing the development of thorough, detailed construction documentation
    • Experience designing elegant high-quality residential projects from entry level to custom residences required
    • Experience project managing residential design/build projects
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Architecture, REVIT, & MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Strong business leadership and relationship-building skills
    • Proven budget management skills and highly detail-oriented
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Understands design programming, which incorporate psychographic segment, square footage, room count, required options, flex spaces, cost targets, detail requirements, specifications, etc.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate information necessary in order to perform duties
    • Ability to manage and schedule multiple projects, tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities on daily basis
    • Ability to develop, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers. Understands how to deal with varied personality types.
    • NCARB a PLUS but not required
